My Top 5 Foundations of All Time

Keep on reading to find out my “TOP 5 Foundations Of All Time”!

Hey Guys,
It took me the longest time to figure out my correct foundation shade. I started off by using the shade ‘Ivory’ which obviously was too light for my skin but no one in my desi household was ready to admit that my skin was actually darker than my mothers. Just asian things :p Since back then I had very little knowledge about makeup I used to purchase almost every shade that seemed somewhat close to my skin without ever trying it on my face and the salesgirls were of little to no help aswell. After trying out many foundations I came across the Studio Fix Fluid by M.A.C in NC30. After using that for a while and a little more research I realized that I was actually a NC20-25. Since M.A.C shades are considered the universal shades in the makeup world it became easier for me to find the right shade and type of foundation for my skintone and type.

Skintone: Light medium, Nc20-25
Skin Type: Combination

1. Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF15:

It is described as Normal to oily skin types, and anyone who wants a natural-looking finish plus hydrating, all-day wear.

I apply this with my Real techniques Buffing Brush since it gives me a little more coverage as compared to my Beauty Blender. I don’t have much of a problematic skin so I just need to little coverage to even out my skintone and I just use concealer for my undereyes. This gives me a very natural finish however I prefer this more in Winters than Summers since it will not last all that well.

2. Revlon Colorstay Foundation:

It is described as Longwearing coverage with Time Release Technology and a lightweight formula that won’t cake, fade, or rub off. Specifically made for combination or oily skin to control oil absorption and shine. Your look stays flawless throughout the day.
I absolutely love this foundation. Its great when I want more coverage and definitely lighter on the pocket. It gives me a flawless finish that lasts all day. It doesn’t look cakey on my face although it is a heavy coverage foundation.

3. M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15:

It is described as An oil controlling formula that offers a natural matte finish with medium to full coverage.
The finish of this foundation is more dewy than matte because its not one that sets very easily especially on oily skintypes. I use this foundation on days when I need full coverage like on special occasions. It looks great in photos and provides a great base for my makeup. With this foundation a little goes a long way and it lasts a long time.

4. M.A.C Prolongwear Foundation:

It is described as A creamy foundation that gives you upto 15 hours of wear in any environmental condition.
I am a huge fan of the Prolongwear Concealer so I obviously had to try this out. If you tend to sweat a lot then you might want to get the waterproof formula. This is a very thick foundation and once again I only use it for special occasions. It is full coverage and pretty thick so constant use might not be all that great for your skin. A plus point is also its packaging, much more convenient than the Studio Fix Fluid.

5. Masarrat Misbah Silk Foundation:

It is described as This weightless liquid formula “tunes in” to you skin’s need, controlling oil where there is a shine and moisturize where it’s patchy for a long wearing balanced look, with true coverage.
I had heard a great deal about this foundation on the Pakistan Beauty Society group (previously known as Pakistani Beauty Bloggers Community) so I had to try it out. I was not expecting much especially after seeing the packaging. The packaging seemed very cheap but the product inside was amazing. It looks great on the skin, doesn’t appear cakey and lasted for over 10 hours on me on a very busy day. My skin looked the same all day with just one touch up. Its the least priciest of the lot aswell.

So these are my Top 5 Foundations. What are your Holy Grail Foundations?

Hope you all liked this review. Stay tuned for more and thank you for your time.
